The key objectives of this requalification course are as follows:
Learn the role and responsibilities of a first responder, understanding the importance of prompt and effective action in emergency situations.
Gain knowledge and understanding of infection control measures, consent requirements, and the importance of incident reporting for maintaining a safe and accountable environment.
Develop the skills to conduct scene surveys, including primary and secondary surveys, to assess the situation and identify potential hazards or additional casualties.

Understand how to respond to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, including the proper administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in potentially life-saving interventions.
Learn how to respond to an unconscious casualty who is breathing normally, including the management of seizures and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Recognise and provide appropriate treatment for common injuries and conditions, such as choking, bleeding, burns, fractures, and medical emergencies, through practical assessments that allow you to apply your knowledge and skills in simulated scenarios.
